Casa Tat Loy
Casa Tat Loy is a comprehensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for men in the Lake Atitlan Region of Guatemala. There are currently 100 men living at CTL. The house is made up of four stories and measures approximately 30 meters by 25 meters. It’s located in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala. Every day the residents receive AA-based therapies at 11am and 8pm. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, they receive Psychological Therapies in a group setting. On Wednesdays, the residents practice fasting until 12pm noon. Every day, the residents are expected to wake up early and shower, complete various chores around the house, have breakfast, receive counseling and occupational therapy, and also work through different reflections each day. Approximately 250 men successfully graduated from the CTL program in 2024.
Giving Back - The residents serve their community in various ways, including cleaning up the lakefront, helping with construction projects, picking up trash around town, lending a helping hand to different organizations, sharing their testimonies or giving motivational talks to different educational institutions. They have also contributed to the house by completing various repairs as a way of giving thanks for their recovery
Casa Ixoqi
Casa Ixoqi, the sister program to Casa Tat Loy, is a drug and alcohol rehab center for the women of the Lake Atitlan Region of Guatemala. It is run by Tadeo’s wife, Auri. The house was started in January of 2020 because many families started seeking help for women, and it wasn't possible to have women and men together in CTL for everyone’s safety and well-being. The daily programming at Casa Ixoqi is similar to the men’s program with daily meditations, AA groups, counseling, journaling, and daily reflections. The women's house currently has 20 residents. Eight women have recovered successfully from the program in the last year. With the women, the aim is to work on occupational therapy and skill building to help them learn how to generate income while also overcoming their addictions
